Mr Lau Yiu Man
Founder
Highly experienced in international trading and currently involved in natural resources investments in Asia, Mr Lau is the founder of the company. He migrated to Hong Kong from China in his early 30s and became involved in various business ventures. In the late 80’s Mr Lau started his natural resources investment company in Hong Kong and became one of the major crude oil trading companies in Asia.
Mr Eric Lau
Chairman of Directors and Managing Director
Mr Lau was appointed Chairman of Directors and Managing Director in 2002. He is the passion behind the facade leading BCCHD through a hotel soft refurbishment and two major product refurbishments resulting in the quality hotel that we see today.
Mr Lau’s true passion lies in the hospitality industry with his vision one of bringing to the Brisbane market international quality accommodation and food and beverage services.
Darren De Jong
Director
Joining the BCCHD board in 2016 Mr De Jong is a consulting specialist in business and corporate banking. He is the Director of Goodwood Finance, an independent company providing banking and debt advice. He has a Masters of Business Administration, Bachelor of Commerce and is a member of the Finance Brokers of Australia.
Mr Rick Kuylaars
General Manager and Company Secretary – BCCHD
With a Bachelor of Business in Hotel Management and a career which has included financial roles with Hilton International, Sheraton Hotels and Rydges Hotel and Resorts, Mr Kuylaars brings a wealth of international experience to BCCHD. He held the position of Financial Controller for the hotel, before joining BCCHD as General Manager.
Mr Peter McKnoulty
Director
Joining the BCCHD Board in 2024 Peter is a tax and commercial lawyer with over 40 years’ experience. He is a Consultant with McCullough Robertson Lawyers and has extensive business structuring and mergers and acquisitions experience. A member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, Peter has been director of ASX listed companies, and is a Chartered Tax Advisor.
Mr Mat Sackman
Financial Controller - BCCHD
With a Bachelor of Business in Finance and Economics and a career which has spanned over 13 years in the hospitality industry, his experience is a positive contribution to the BCCHD group.
Mr Sackman has worked in various financial positions within the EVT portfolio and was the Financial Controller for Grand View Hotel before joining BCCHD.
